As the effects of the 9/11 terrorist attacks continue to reverberate through both public and private sector organizations across the nation, there has been the creation of three emergency management degrees in New Hampshire. Just south of the Canadian province of Quebec, New Hampshire is nestled in the heart of New England as the fifth smallest and ninth least populous state in America. In partnership with the Center for Homeland Defense and Security of the Naval Postgraduate School, the program provides access to industry leaders as well as specialized educational resources centered on domestic and international terrorism. In addition to a required homeland security internship, the curriculum enables students to participate in interactive group projects overseen by experienced faculty mentors to better understand the sociology of disasters, ideology of conflict, and practices of crisis management.

In opening growing job opportunities at all levels of the public and private sector, the program offers a strong academic curriculum of 16 credits under the guidance of credentialed faculty with extensive experience in homeland security. In addition to a required background check, it is required that applicants meet the psychological, emotional, physical, and personal qualifications needed to enter the homeland security field before admissions.
