The University of Florida offers a Bachelors of Science in Fire and Emergency Services, Emergency Medical Services Management, a Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Services online degree program, and an Emergency Medical Services Management certificate.
The Emergency Management Certificate offered at the University of Florida is a 15 credit course with a minimum grade of “C” required to pass offered through the Design, Construction and Planning college of the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. Course-specific prerequisites are experience in emergency management and an associates degree. The BS in Fire and Emergency Services with a concentration in Emergency Medical Services Management is also offered through the M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management, and 120 credits are required to graduate from the program. There are no prerequisites to begin coursework and the entire program is available online. There are also degree programs offered at the University of Florida that aren’t specific to emergency management that could help professionals excel in their careers, such as their Bachelors of Business Administration, their Master’s of Business Administration, and the various management certificates they offer.

About the University of Florida
A monument of higher education in Gainesville, Flordia, University of Florida was established in 1884 when Jordan Probst founded the Florida Agricultural College in nearby Lake City. Florida Agricultural College was the first and only land-grant college in the state at the time and had been established primarily to educate farmers on the latest scientific techniques being developed. It wasn’t until 1903 that Florida Agricultural College became the “University of Florida,” to reflect a change in mission mandated by the Florida legislature, in which the former Florida Agricultural College would begin offered courses in fields other than agriculture. In 1868, the Florida constitution established the need for a state-sponsored university, which led to the development of a multi-college university being created near West Florida Seminary. In 1883, the West Florida Seminary and the Tallahassee College of Medicine and Surgery were merged into the Florida University.
West Florida Seminary became a Literary College, containing several departments. The university also established a goal to create an additional three colleges: a Law College, a Polytechnic and Normal Institute, and a Theological Institute. Today, the University of Florida sits on a 2,000-acre campus in Gainesville, Florida, boasts an annual endowment of over $1.5 billion, and is home to 16 academic colleges and more than 150 research centers. University of Florida Admissions Requirements
There are no listed admissions requirements aside from the typical high school transcripts, college transcripts where applicable, standardized test scores, and the $37 payment to cover the application fee and the additional processing fee. The University of Florida has an acceptance rate of 47.5%, so while acceptance is by no means guaranteed, a less-than-perfect GPA and lower scores on the ACT and SAT may not be as much of a stumbling block at U of F than at other universities that offer an equally high-quality education.
